What a great evening we had on Wednesday. The temple was bursting with visitors with many people we have not seen before.
We went down early to the Rock Cafe so drink queue was a bit long but the staff rose to the occasion and the meals were soon served: chicken wings, mozzarella stick, southern fried chicken, corn on the cob and of course hot dogs – mmm. We even had cakes and fruit for desert.
Due to our normal vocalist being ill, our prospective candidate stood in to lead six Beatles songs: “I saw her standing there”, “She loves you”, “Please Please me”, “I wanna hold your hand”,” I feel fine”, All my Lovin”.
Two visiting brethren added many interesting songs with many encoures. The catering manager even joined in with two songs ending with a fantastic rendition of Valerie, that prompted a standing ovation. People did not want the evening to end and the music just flowed and flowed.
The 50 Brethren present, raised an amazing £321.26 for charity.
