Melding Rock Music and our love for Freemasonry.

OUR DEFINITION OF ROCK MUSIC:

Rock Music is a form of popular music initiated by the electrification of instruments that evolved from the American Southern Blues and Gospel Music. This progressed through the introduction of rock and roll, and general pop music in the mid to late 1950’s and 1960’s.

It currently covers many sub-genres to include Rock and Roll, Blues, Folk and Country Rock, Heavy Metal, Punk Rock, Progressive Rock, Indie etc to include all popular music played under the various guises in todays music listings.

As music lends itself to a joyous melding of minds and personalities, it is our feeling that encompassing our fraternity with all that freemasonry brings and coupling it with the experience linked with the language of sound that we all appreciate, it makes for a Lodge offering a different experience and perspective based on our chosen genre.

As such, the idea of a Lodge, specifically reflecting an interest in popular music, steeped in our own musical traditions was based on discussions with Brethren who either play this style of music, collectively, singularly or simply enjoy listening to it initiated the idea.

This led us to our Consecration on the 6th July 2024.

Our current membership includes brethren from all walks of life and from both inside and outside the Province of Derbyshire.
